Steven Douglas Mulder was born on January 15, 1952, in Denver, Colorado. He was baptized as an infant and later made his profession of faith at the Emden Christian Reformed Church in Renville, Minnesota. Steve was a graduate of the Renville High School class of 1970, the Gustavus Adolphus College class of 1974, and the University of Minnesota School of Medicine class of 1979.
On December 26, 2006, Steve was united in marriage to Evelyn Healy at their home in Hutchinson. They treasured each of their 19 years together and were blessed with a blended family that included six children and twelve grandchildren.
Steve started his practice in Renville, where he opened a clinic and worked as a family physician from 1982-1987. He worked in family medicine in Marshall, Minnesota from 1987-1995. From 1995 to his retirement in 2019, he worked at Hutchinson Health, first in family practice, then emergency medicine, and finally as CEO. In his career as a physician and administrator, Steve was dedicated to both the health and safety of his patients and the well-being of his staff.
Steve was a member of Vineyard United Methodist Church in Hutchinson, a community that he loved dearly. He was also Chairman of the Harmony River Living Center Board of Directors, Chair of the Ad Board Council at Vineyard, and served on the Board at the Ridgewater College Foundation and the Minnesota Hospital Association.
Steve enjoyed spending time at Long Lake near Vergas, Minnesota, where he and Ev had a lake home for the last seven summers. He loved sports and games throughout his life, from his days as a high school athlete to the marathons, biking, kayaking, golf, and cornhole of his later years. Steve was an avid reader and enjoyed books about history and spiritual wisdom. He loved music. Steve especially enjoyed visits with the children and grandchildren.
Steve passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson at the age of 74 years.

Steve was preceded in death by his Parents, Marvin and Loretta Mulder; Brother, Larry Mulder; Grandson, Soren Dykstra.
