Delores Anna Hill lived 98 remarkable years, and on September 8th, 2026, she was called home to be with the Lord, surrounded by the love of the family she treasured so deeply.
Joyce Lynnette (Bakker) Swanson, age 89, of Renville, died Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the Olivia Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church north of Renville. The Rev. Anna Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation for Joyce will be Friday from 5-7 p.m.

The Bird Island Fire Department (BIFD) recently announced that it is one of 150 volunteer fire departments across the nation to receive a $10,000 grant through the State Farm® Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program.
It was a rough start to the season for the BOLD Warrior Football team as they dropped their season opener 51-13 to the Sleepy Eye United last Friday in Olivia. The Warriors opened the contest locked in on playing mistake free football. A strong first drive turned south however, as senior tight end Tyce Weigel suffered a shoulder injury and was sidelined for the rest of the game.
